The idea
Movied.app started with a simple question: can exploring a large movie catalogue feel more personal than searching a database?
Popular lists and keyword search are useful, but they do not always help when you only know the mood, theme, or kind of story you want to find.
This concept explores better discovery, personal tracking, and recommendation experiments without pretending the product direction is already settled.
What I am figuring out
The project is still in the idea phase. Before building the interface, I am narrowing down which discovery problems are worth solving and what the smallest useful version could be.
- what the catalogue and metadata need to cover
- which search and filtering behaviours are genuinely useful
- how watch history and personal collections should work
- where recommendations can help without becoming noisy
- which technical constraints should be validated early
This page documents the questions and trade-offs behind the concept. Implementation will follow only after the direction is clear enough to be worth building.
